There are an estimated 10,900 people living with dementia in Birmingham. Carolyn McDonald, Alzheimer’s Society Community Fundraiser in Birmingham said: “Thanks to everyone who walked, volunteered or sponsored someone at our amazing Birmingham Memory Walk last year. The number of people who turned up was brilliant, and we are so pleased that we managed to reach our fundraising target. We are already looking forward to 2017’s event – let’s make it even bigger! The money raised for Alzheimer’s Society will support those living with dementia today and help to find a cure for tomorrow.”

Planning is already underway for Birmingham’s Memory Walk for 2017, which will take place at Sutton Park on Saturday 17 September and the bigger location will allow for an even larger turnout of walkers. To sign up, visit www.memorywalk.org.uk
