Visitors to Blenheim Palace will be able to discover exactly what the butler saw over the summer holidays, with Living History characters in the Palace Great Court. Taking place regularly throughout the day, seven days a week, the free guided tours will explore the impressive Great Court in one of the grandest stately homes in the country. In the company of either the butler or the housemaid, the informative and entertaining tours bring the history of the house vividly to life and offers a 'behind-the-scenes' experience with lots of information about life below stairs.

The tours are just part of a series of events and activities taking place across the Oxfordshire estate throughout the summer holidays.

Other highlights include drumming workshops, art classes, animal encounters and miniature pony rides.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a truly unique history lesson in the company of Greg Chapman. His historical presentations incorporate everything from juggling, unicycling, comedy, magic and even escapology.

Over three shows Greg will provide a brief history ranging from Ancient Rome, through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Victorian Britain and the 1940s. There is even a condensed version of the Battle of Agincourt.

Why not book onto a special 'Downstairs' Tour at Blenheim Palace? The indoor experience will visit the areas used by household staff both past and present, showcasing what life was like working in the Palace across the last three centuries.

Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1722, and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is set in over 2,000 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland.
