As well as harnessing the rich intensity of British flavours and traditional Swiss production methods in their signature range of truffles and creams, the team at local artisan chocolatier Davenport's Chocolates also love to share their wisdom with other sweet lovers. That's why they're running a second season of summer workshops to help loyal customers hone their own skills.

Gain an insight into the delicate crafts of tempering and enrobing in our tailor-made classes; learn to make chocolate moulding paste and the basics of chocolate modelling (including how to make roses, calla lilies and even a mini Angel of the North!).

Once you've mastered the perfect chocolate shine, the results are truly incredible. 'I learnt my skills under a Swiss master chocolatier, and it's such great motivation when you create something truly delicious,' says Jane Williams, founder and Head Chocolatier. 'Now that I run my own business I love sharing that with every delegate, from fellow chefs and avid bakers to those who have never cooked with chocolate before. Our only requirement is that you love eating it.'

Budding Willy Wonkas are also invited to our children's workshops, including 'Make Your Own Caterpillars and Butterflies', touching on all the same skills in a friendly, creative environment.

Workshops are running between 27th and 31st July.
