Madrid's newest property Only YOU Hotel Atocha welcomes cocktails from Brooklyn's premium cocktail bar Clover Club, modern day craftsmanship from Brooklyn barbershop Ludlow Blunt, and weekly jazz performances from US jazz label Blue Note as part of three month hotel takeover from US gin brand Seagrams.
The new Only YOU Hotel Atocha which was officially inaugurated in December 2016 by Spanish actress Monica Cruz has rapidly become a reference point for cocktails in the Spanish capital, thanks in part to its collaboration with Seagrams, bringing month-long cocktail, jazz and barber shop pop-ups to Madrid from the Big Apple.
Throughout February 2017, Only YOU Hotel Atocha welcomes the renowned Brooklyn cocktail bar Clover Club. Originally modelled on a select group of Philadelphia journalists who from 1882 until the 1920s met once a month at the Bellevue Hotel to drink, eat and chat, Clover Club, has been striving to follow in those old-time Philadelphians' footsteps since they opened back in 2008. The birthplace of the 'Clover Club Cocktail' made from Gin, dry vermouth, lemon, raspberry and egg white, guests can enjoy the distinctive flavours in Madrid, created by head barman and co-owner Tom Macy.
Blending a heritage barbershop narrative with modern day techniques, Brooklyn barbers Ludlow Blunt is featured in the New York Series 'Broadwalk Empire' and famed for modelling the locks of Tilda Swinton, Lady Gaga and David Beckham. It joins the Clover Club in Madrid this February offering visitors to the Only YOU Hotel Atocha haircuts mixing classical styles with contemporary appeal.
US jazz label Blue Note returns to Only YOU Hotel Atocha for a second month this February with a weekly performance by Jazz trio Juan Sebastían, featuring a special guest. Taking place every Thursday at 9pm, visitors and locals in Madrid can enjoy jazz in an intimate setting with a range of local and international jazz artists.
The new urban-style hotel faces Atocha railway station, one of the city's major transportation hubs, overlooking the Paseo Infanta Isabel and Alfonso XII street, close to Madrid's spectacular Retiro Park and Madrid's famous 'Golden Triangle of Art' (including the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen – Bornemisza Museum).
The décor of the hotel bears the hallmark of prestigious Barcelona-based interior designer Lázaro Rosa Violán, who has created a welcoming, warm and sophisticated space that blends industrial and Mediterranean styles and materials.
As well as New York cuisine and cocktails, Only YOU Hotel Atocha also offers a gastronomic journey through Latin America to Asia and back to Europe. 'Trotamundos by Spoonik' brings a menu developed by resident chef Javi Mora, in collaboration with Spoonik Club chefs Jon Giraldo and Jamie Lieberman, insignias of fusion cuisine. 'The Bakery by Mama Framboise' offers sweet temptations and other baked delights in the style of a New York deli, whilst 'YOUniverse' is a terrace and restaurant located on the seventh floor, offering breakfast with a view and a modern terrace to enjoy wonderful views of the Spanish capital.
