West Brom will pay tribute to former striker Jeff Astle wearing a special 1968 FA Cup final inspired retro kit against Leicester City on April 11.
Jeff Astle, who scored 174 goals in 361 games for West Bromwich Albion, netted the winner as West Brom beat Everton 1-0 at Wembley in 1968.
The new retro est Bromwich Albion FA Cup Tribute Kit resembles the design of the famous white West Brom Shirt worn when the centre forward scored the FA Cup Final winner.
Featuring the simplistic kit design of the 1968 Wembley FA Cup final kit, the new 2015 replica version is white with a crew neck collar a special badge to honor the England World Cup striker with the lettering Astle Day 2015. The new special West Bromwich kit is completely retro with no brandings and sponsor logos.
West Brom will wear kits numbered 2-11 and a blank goalkeeper shirt.
A Foundation in Jeff’s name is launched by his family and will promote care of other sufferers and research and education into CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). He passed away from the disease at the age of just 59 in 2002.
