The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2022 celebrates artistic and technical excellence in Bangla cinema, with this, the sixth edition, seeing Joy Personal Care as the title partner.

Held at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata, and hosted by Ankush Hazra, Anirban Bhattacharya and Srabanti Chatterjee, it was a star-studded celebration of the best of Bengali cinema, with the likes of Aparna Sen, Sourav Das and Subhashree Ganguly just some of the big names in attendance.

With both Ballabhpurer Roopkatha and Dostojee winning ‘Best Film’Mithun Chakraborty won ‘Best Actor (Male)’ for his performance in Projapati, while Swastika Mukherjee received the award for Best Actor (Female) for her role in Shrimati.

Following winning the ‘Best Debut (Male)’ for X Equals to Prem, an overwhelmed Anindya Sengupta said: “Since this is my first black lady and also an unexpected one I would dedicate this award to the hard work and struggles I have done throughout my life. So, this is dedicated to my life.” Aparna Sen also received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
