Pitches for popular country music festival Wolvestock are selling fast say event organisers, who have already had to double the anticipated number of caravans at the event. The two-day music festival is back on the city’s calendar of events and is proving popular amongst country music lovers and line dancers.

This year Wolvestock is being held alongside the popular City of Wolverhampton Show, which for the first time is being staged at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July, 2015.

Traditionally Wolvestock has been held at the city’s East Park and has over the years attracted a loyal following of country music fans.

But organisers say the new venue, which has more facilities, better parking, good caravan and camping pitches as well as a great line-up, is helping to drive up early ticket sales.

They say they had originally anticipated around 30 caravan pitches for the weekend festival but have already exceeded that and have now set a limit of 60 pitches with just 12 left.

Councillor John Reynolds, Wolverhampton City Council’s Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: “Country music fans can look forward to a great music line-up and enjoy the attractions of City of Wolverhampton Show, as well as make the most of the good camping and caravanning pitches at the racecourse.

“It’s promising to be a great weekend and we are pleased to see that weekend camping sales are already very strong for Wolvestock.”

Bands already announced to play include The Diablos, Dee D and the James Gang, the West Coast Eagles, Lauren Oaks Band, The Ann Duggan Band and Shot Gun Annie.  Soloists include Donna Wylde, Dee D. James, Amy Morgan, Emma Swindells and Nigel Slater as well as the Wolvestock Dance Team and guests.

Weekend caravan pitches are bookable by phone only through Midland Box Office on 0870 320 7000 at £25 per vehicle. The £25 weekend pass includes free entrance for two people to the City Show. Those arriving on Friday 10 July, 2015, will be treated to an evening of line-dancing with instructors and DJs from 6pm-9pm.

Lots of food outlets, bars and trade stalls are booked for the City of Wolverhampton Show as well as family favourites Big Pete Monster Truck and the Bolddog Lings Motorcycle display team who will wow crowds in the main arena.

And debuting this year are crowd-pleasing stunt quad biker The Kangaroo Kid, performing horses The Stampede Stunt Company and the David Seamark Sheepdog Display.

Other attractions include a funfair, puppet shows, City of Wolverhampton Woodturners, the Wolverhampton & District Model Engineering Society’s miniature steam railway, a BMX track and the Black Country Fuchsia Society.
