Get into the Swashbucklin' spirit at Pirate's Quest on 16th August as the crew celebrate National Rum Day; learn all about Sir Henry Morgan, why pirates always head first to a tavern upon docking and why they drink grog (watered down rum). The Newquay attraction is home to 'Captain Morgan's Tavern', named after the infamous Pirate Sir Henry Morgan who was the inspiration for Captain Morgan's Rum, and is the centre of recruitment in the summer storyline 'The Republic of Pirates'.

Discover what it meant to bring home a ship-full of rum and why it was most popular spirit of the Caribbean at the time.  Learn about the handy uses for rum (other than drinking it of course!) and how to make a good 'grog' too.

The hour long interactive experience, led by a live Pirate, allows you and your crewmates to feel, hear, smell and see intriguing legends and exciting history - from Ship-Wreck to Ship-Deck!

Fun for all the family, swashbucklin' sailors can also complete a treasure map to claim a Republic of Pirates Membership Card and earn themselves some Treasure.

Tours will run daily throughout the summer holidays.  We highly recommend booking in advance as tour groups are small and if it's a rainy day in Cornwall – tours can sell out fast.

Although the Pirate's Quest Tavern doesn't stock any real rum, you can grab some grog at Captain Jacks nearby in Newquay.
