International cycling superstar Graeme Obree will be riding into Anglesey for the much anticipated Tour of Britain in just a few weeks time and paying a special visit to the luxury hotel Chateau Rhianfa. Once called a “genius” by fellow cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, Graeme will be hosting an exciting evening dinner at the Chateau Rhianfa following the Grand Depart of the Tour of Britain in Anglesey's Beaumaris, on Sunday, September 6.
To mark the historic event the Tour of Britain Dinner will see guests greeted with a drinks and canapé reception before enjoying a delicious four-course meal and an astute presentation by Graeme around the history of cycling and his achievements.
This will be followed by the opportunity for an informal chat with Graeme, autograph signing and the chance to have a photo with this cycling legend.
Known as the Flying Scotsman Graeme is well known as a racing cyclist who twice broke the world hour record in the early 90s and he was the Individual Pursuit World Champion during the same period.
He's also famed in a film dramatizing his life, The Flying Scotsman, for suffering with bipolar disorder and attempting suicide three times.
All this combined with the unique cycling designs created by Graeme mean his captivating speeches tackle not only his amazing athletic experiences and achievements but also reveal his character and determination.
Graeme said: “I'm delighted to be attending the Grand Depart of this year's Tour of Britain in Anglesey and looking forward to sharing my story at the beautiful Chateau Rhianfa.
“It should be a great evening.”
The excitement is now building at the Chateau Rhianfa as they prepare to welcome the Tour of Britain and Graeme.

The Tour of Britain is the UK's highest ranked cycle race and this year is set to take place in eight stages, beginning in Wales for the first time cyclists will start at The Green, in Beaumaris, and leave Anglesey via the famous Menai Bridge before heading through all six North Wales regions and the heart of Snowdonia.
The race will eventually end in central London on Sunday, September 13, but not before cyclists tackle the race's hardest summit finish at Hartside Fell in Cumbria.
