His ambition is to be the next Lewis Hamilton and 12-year-old Connor Prosser has received a helping hand in realising his F1 dream thanks to City of Wolverhampton Council who has sponsored him by giving him a free five year membership of WV Active. Connor, from Bilston, is a talented kart racer and is no stranger to hitting 90mph out on the track despite his tender years.

He has been racing since the age of eight winning many accolades and awards and now has a massive opportunity to race for Formula Kart Stars (FKS) which is screened on Sky Sports.

FKS is supported by Formula 1 supremo Bernie Eccleston and counts a number of successful F1 drivers – including Lewis Hamilton - as former competitors.

Connor, who has been accepted into the prestigious competition, was presented with his membership of WV Active by Councillor Steve Evans – Cabinet Member for City Environment.

Connor said: “I was really excited when I found out I had got the membership of WV Active. Using it to get fit will really help my ambition to be a Formula 1 racer and be up there with the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.”

Cllr. Evans said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Connor who is flying the flag for Bilston and Wolverhampton and has achieved a lot of success already despite being only 12.

“Connor is a very impressive young man who has big ambitions to reach the top in his chosen sport and  he now has a wonderful opportunity for success in Formula Kart Stars.”
