The Grand Theatre is dishing out discounted tickets for two of its shows during next month’s Enjoy Wolverhampton programme. The Lichfield Street theatre receives a wide range of major touring productions including drama, musicals, ballet, dance, opera, variety, concerts, children's shows and one of the biggest pantomimes in the UK, with audiences from across the region and beyond taking advantage of excellent transport links to the town.

Admired by performers and audiences alike for its intimate three-tiered Victorian auditorium, the Grand celebrated its 120th anniversary in December 2014. You can savour the surroundings and get discounted tickets for two top shows – SWAP, a comedy production, on Friday, July 1 and Saturday 2; and TV’s Heartbeat on Tuesday, July 5. Vicky Price, Grand Theatre Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “Visitor week provides a great opportunity to showcase what the venues in Wolverhampton as a collective have to offer.

“As well as new partnerships between businesses it also builds on existing ones. The Grand Theatre draws 300,000 visitors a year into Wolverhampton and the Enjoy Wolverhampton programme helps us to promote our venue even further.”

SWAP is on at 7.30pm on both days and has a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday. Tickets are priced £15 if you quote SWAPVW15 when booking. In this hilarious new comedy directed by Return of the Saint star Ian Ogilvy, a house-swapping holiday goes disastrously wrong when Brian and Susan arrive in Spain to discover they have unknowingly traded homes with a British gangster. Former girlfriends, twin brothers and dead bodies all start piling up as the mess gets bigger and the clean-up gets sillier.

Discounted tickets for TV’s Heartbeat on July 5, at 7.30pm, are priced £15 (usual price £15.50-£25.50). Quote HB15 when booking.

Fans of popular ITV police drama Heartbeat are in for a treat as members of the TV cast take to the stage for the first time ever. Using video footage and a clever set, the show recreates the atmosphere of the 1960s rural Yorkshire setting.
