Following on from an already phenomenal year, which included her second Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlisting in as little as three years and four MOBO Award nominations, Laura Mvula has announced the release of her new single ‘Ready or Not’ which has been chosen as the soundtrack for the legendary House of Fraser Christmas campaign. A cover of The Delfonics track, ‘Ready or Not’, but still reflecting Laura’s signature and distinctive sound, the new single will be released on the 4th November and will also be included in the special edition of Laura’s latest album ‘The Dreaming Room’ which will be released on the 25th November. The special edition of the ‘Dreaming Room’ will also contain new tracks , Mellow Man, Same Old Mistake, Silence is the Way, Magic (BBC Live Version) and You Work For Me.

Cinema viewers will be able to see a special 60 second version of the ad throughout November and December. Recorded over a 12 month period, Laura’s latest album ‘The Dreaming Room’ is an expansion of what was an already captivating sound. The heavenly vocal layering, the unexpected, complex diversions and the grandeur are still all there but now with the addition of buzzy analogue synths and electric guitar lines. If Laura’s debut album, ‘Sing to The Moon’ was the sound of a young artist honing her craft, then ‘The Dreaming Room’ can be described as the sound of a confident and accomplished lyricist showing the progression of an artist who has truly come into her own.
