A new scholarship to support international students is to be launched by the University of Wolverhampton.

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship will be available to new overseas students starting on a full-time undergraduate or PhD course from September 2019.

Eligible international students who are coming to study at the University’s UK campuses will be awarded £1,000 in their first year.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geoff Layer, said: “We are launching this new International Scholarship as part of our commitment to being a global institution which welcomes students from a range of different backgrounds.

“We are a truly international university with over 2,500 overseas students from more than 100 countries. The University values our international students and the huge contribution they make to the vibrant diversity of our campuses.

“We’re also aware of the challenges our students face so this is the latest development in our commitment to ensuring the University meets the needs of its student community.”

International students who meet the criteria will automatically became eligible for the scholarship once they have received a conditional offer from the University of Wolverhampton.
