MC Hammersmith, the world's leading freestyle rapper to emerge from the ghetto of middle-class West London, has announced his first ever UK tour after wowing the fans and critics alike with his new show ‘‘Straight Outta Brompton’ at the Edinburgh Fringe this month. The tour starts in his hometown of Edinburgh on 19th March at The Stand and culminates on 28th April at Brighton’s Old Market.

Birmingham Royal Ballet is delighted to announce the launch of its new company BRB2 which will be visiting Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on Saturday 24 June 2023 as part of its inaugural UK tour with Carlos Acosta’s Classical Selection.

BRB2 is a new initiative where BRB pro-actively seeks out some of the best young ballet graduates from around the world to join a two-year performance programme, providing vital employment for the next generation of exceptional ballet dancers, (aged 18-22) to transition from training into jobs at BRB or other leading ballet companies, impacting the dance sector worldwide.

UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will play an intimate London show next month.

Campbell and band will celebrate the induction of UB40 into the Music Walk Of Fame in Camden with an exclusive concert at KOKO on September 4. Tickets for the special performance go on general sale at 10am on Friday (August 18). The future of Irish music, culture and heritage in the UK has received a boost with the award of an Arts Council England grant to Birmingham independent community venue Nortons Digbeth.

Artists, fans, and the Irish diaspora across England are set to benefit from the news, which will help to underwrite investment in grassroots artists and organisations via the 500-capacity popular music venue at a time when the live music landscape is at serious risk across the country. Funding from the Arts Council England will help Nortons to further shape its offering to grassroots music artists, with a particular focus on underrepresented groups including second and third-generation Irish and their families in Birmingham.
