Twycross Zoo has announced a brand-new lineup of events and experiences for visitors of all ages to enjoy throughout 2026, including the continuation of its world-class Lanterns of the Wild experience until 22 February 2026.
The schedule of activities starts for visitors this February Half Term, and the zoo has got families covered from day through night. The Midlands-based charity will launch an all-new edition of its much-loved Zoo Crew challenges for February Half Term.
As part of the interactive trail around the 100-acre zoo, little explorers can visit discovery points to uncover hidden nests, study rainforest handprints, examine ape artefacts, and dive into ocean-themed activities; those who complete every challenge will earn an exclusive badge. Then, as the sun sets, ticketholders can enjoy the critically acclaimed Lanterns of the Wild experience that is quickly becoming the must-see immersive experience of the season.
The one-mile-long lanterns experience features over 2,000 hand-crafted lanterns; including the world’s first The Gruffalo lanterns experience, sprawling epic- scale installations, across ten illuminated wild habitats - journey through lush rainforests, icy tundra and vibrant ocean scenes. Families will wander past life-size Emperor penguins, a towering octopus, walk-through igloo, and a 25-metre Mount Rushmore, all brought to life through dazzling lanterns.
Alongside a fun-filled, glowing February Half Term, zoo visitors will be able to enjoy a host of new activities across the year - including a new event in The Gruffalo Discovery Land this Spring; four more Zoo Crew challenges; new animal arrivals; and development projects which will reimagine two existing animal habitats, opening this, Easter. To coincide with the announcement, the charity is offering visitors the chance to purchase their zoo tickets* at 25% off until 1 February 2026.
With all Twycross Zoo’s tickets giving visitors 12-months access to the zoo, this makes an annual ticket for a family of four cost less than £75, giving families across the country an amazing value year of fun, and the warmth of knowing they’re supporting the charity zoo save species around the world!
