There will be a series of preview events next week regarding the proposed £20 million package of improvements for Halesowen town centre.

The drop‑in sessions will be held at Halesowen Town Hall, in the West Midlands, ahead of an informal public consultation due to take place in early summer. The preview events will take place on Wednesday 15 April from 5pm to 8pm, Thursday 16 April from 3pm to 6pm and Saturday 18 April from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

The proposals include bringing vacant buildings back into use, redeveloping the Pool Road multi-storey car park into a new surface‑level facility with electric vehicle charging and improved accessibility, as well as creating better pedestrian links and landscaping throughout the area. Anne Boyd, Director for Growth and infrastructure, said: “Next week’s preview events are a great opportunity for people to come and see the early plans for themselves, ask questions, and speak directly to officers working on the project.

“These improvements represent potential for major investment in Halesowen, and we want to make sure residents, businesses and visitors are involved as we continue shaping the proposals. I hope as many people as possible will take the chance to attend one of the sessions and share their views.”

Improvements to Halesowen Town Hall are also planned, including a new entrance with an integrated lift to provide a more prominent street‑level welcome to the well‑used venue. An artist’s impression gives a view of the town’s plan.
