Prime Video have just released the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated Colombian Original movie ‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil’, which will launch on Prime Video later this year.

Set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another, the film follows ‘Juan (Speitzer)’, the youngest in a clan of three brothers entangled in this perilous trade, as he’s forced to work for a sinister rival. Determined to uncover the gruesome secrets that shroud this no-man’s-land, Juan’s girlfriend Diana (Osma) embarks on a quest for the truth.

Packed with action, drama and romance, ‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil’ touches on universal themes around geographical, ethical and family borders. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, The Hidden Face), the movie features a stellar cast, including Alberto Guerra (Griselda), Alejandro Speitzer (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta), Laura Osma (Goles en contra) and multi-award winning Grammy artist Juanes, who graces the big screen in his acting debut.

The trailer comes days before ‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil’ is set to celebrate its world premiere at the 49th annual Toronto International Film Festival on 9th September as part of the International Centrepiece programme. The film is produced by production company Dynamo. It’s written by María Camila Arias (Birds of Passage) and  directed, written and produced by Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, The Hidden Face).

The production team includes Andrés Calderón (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta, Narcos) as a producer and Cyndi Rojas (Mile 22) as an associate producer. Pimpinero: Blood and Oil adds to Prime Video’s growing selection of non-English language Originals, including recent international hits ‘My Fault (‘Culpa Mía’)’, ‘Maxton Hall - The World Between Us’, and Golden Globe winner ‘Argentina 1985’, as well as upcoming titles such as ‘Your Fault ('Culpa Tuya')’, ‘Freedom’, and ‘Like a Dragon: Yakuza’.

This is in addition to UK produced Originals, such as ‘Clarkson’s Farm’, ‘The Rig’ and ‘The Devil’s Hour’. As well as global Amazon Originals such as ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, ‘Fallout’, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’, ‘The Boys’, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’, ‘Road House’, ‘Saltburn’, and ‘The Idea of You’.
