The ultimate weekend for everyone with a love for fantasy books, arts, films and games, set within the stunning grounds of the majestic Sudeley Castle

Fantasy Forest, a festival that brings all genres from the world of sci-fi and fantasy together in one place, is returning to Sudeley Castle, Gloucestershire, on 16th and 17th July 2022 for a weekend packed full of amazing entertainment, unique experiences, fantastic food and drink, and much more.

Set within the stunning grounds of Sudeley Castle, Fantasy Forest is a welcoming and inclusive, family-friendly festival celebrating sci-fi and fantasy, fantasy art, board games, cosplay, steampunk and historic re-enactment.

Festival goers can try their hand at a diverse range of craft and skills workshops, including coin cutting, archery, juggling, axe throwing, dance and movement, Japanese sword fighting and the ever-popular wand making. You can even hone your skills to become a master Jedi.

Enjoy an eclectic range of live music across multiple stages. explore the UK’s largest selection of fantasy market stalls, participate in a spectacular costume show, be amazed by stilt performers, listen to captivating stories from the Midnight Storytellers or enjoy fascinating talks and workshops from special guests, including fantasy artist Anne Stokes.

Travel to another realm as you walk amongst superheroes and Star Wars characters, Dr. Who fans will be delighted to visit the Tardis and meet a host of familiar characters, including Daleks. The Gloucestershire Troopers, Iconic Legends and 15th Cyber Legion will be dressed to impress in their screen accurate costumes.

A new area named ‘Steam Nation’ will be home to all things related to the wonderful world of Steampunk. Enjoy live entertainment from artists including the award-winning hip hop maestro Professor Elemental, dynamic duo Victor and Bully and Alice Strange, and marvel at a spectacular four-metre-high steampunk airship and trike.

A highlight of this year’s festival will take place on Sunday 17th July when the renowned 65-piece Film Orchestra perform a live, two hour, al fresco concert in the castle grounds. The Orchestra will perform favourites from fantasy films, TV shows and games, such as Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, World of Warcraft, Dr. Who and many more. 

Weekend camping tickets have already sold out for the second year running; however, day and weekend (non-camping) tickets are available. The whole family is welcome, with children under 7 free, and dogs are also welcome in most areas providing they remain on a lead and owners clean up after them.

Free on-site parking is available throughout the weekend.
