Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage is excited to announce a brand new partnership with Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, a B:Music Venue, which will showcase the very best in South Asian performance.

The partnership will mark the return to the venue of Sampad’s popular Mid-day Mantra, a free event for audiences which will take place in Symphony Hall’s brand-new The Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space visited by HRH The Earl of Wessex in September 2021.

 

The opening concert takes place on Saturday 30 October at 1pm and features singer, song writer and musician Navin Kundra one of the strongest forces in the British Asian Music Industry with several number 1 smash hit singles and awards to his name.

Navin’s recent achievements include completing his first ever Bollywood movie, ‘Operation Cobra, scoring his third consecutive top 15 UK urban charts hit with ‘Burning Slow’ and performing at Wembley Stadium in front of 60,000 people. Navin has currently been touring with his sold out, smash hit concert tour, ‘Voice Of Legends’.

Piali Ray, Director of Sampad said: “Previously, and over a period of 4 years, Sampad presented 37 free Mid-day Mantras in Symphony Hall’s foyer space which attracted an audience of over 6,000.

“We are therefore delighted to partner with B:Music and look forward to welcoming audiences to our opening which will be a joyous, celebratory event ahead of Diwali, one of the major religious festivals.” B:Music’s mission is to inspire a love of live music, through performance, participation and learning.

Mid-day Mantra on Saturday October 20 and is a free event. The second Mid-day Mantra takes place on Saturday November 27 featuring Birmingham’s very own Sanchita Pal and musicians. Sanchita is one of the most accomplished Hindustani (North Indian) Classical and Semi-Classical singers.

Sampad are planning a very special Mid-day Mantra in recognition of Bangladesh@50 on December 18 featuring music and spoken word. Further details will be announced soon.
