Don't disappoint dad with yet another pair of cartoon socks, wacky print tie, or 'World's Best Dad' mug this Father's day. Treat him to a day out at The York Dungeon instead where dads go free with a paying child!

Better still, you can treat him to a whole week of fun as the darkly entertaining attraction is running Dad's Week from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st June. This special offer is available with all bookings made online for visits during these dates.

Whether your dad loves (or deserves) a good scare, enjoys laughing out loud and is a bit of a history buff, a trip to The York Dungeon will be the perfect present. It promises shocks and guffaws aplenty and is even based on York's real history (minus the boring bits).

The York Dungeon is a unique visitor attraction that brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages and scenes in a truly unique and exciting walkthrough experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It's hilarious, fun and sometimes a bit scary!

The 75-minute journey takes you through 2,000 years of York's dark history. Guided by a full cast of actors, you and your companions walk through The Dungeon, moving from show to show. You'll even get up close and personal with local legends including Eric Bloodaxe and Guy Fawkes.

It's a fully themed experience. That means 360° sets, full on authenticity and theatrical storytelling. On your journey you'll pass through York Castle Prison and hear the tale of the notorious highwayman Dick Turpin, and you'll join the Traitors' Rebellion as Henry VIII brings the wrath of the Tudors against the City of York.
