Councillor SImon Hackett, cabinet member for children's services was at the launch of a new resource at the Oldbury Library, in a bid to keep children safe as part of the Children’s safety in the Home scheme, with subjects ranging from dangerous dogs, sun and water safety to eating harmful poisons (liquid-tabs) and choking.

Talented Performing Arts students from Walsall College are getting ready to showcase their talents with an adaption of popular Broadway musical 'Hairspray'. On Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th February in the college's theatre space, 'The Venue' at the Wisemore Campus, Level 2 and 3 Acting students will be staging evening performances of the all singing all dancing show.

A talented student from the Arthur Terry School has been chosen to take part in a Birmingham wide scheme to train the next generation of sports leaders and coaches. Matthew Cotter (Year 10) has been accepted into this year’s Birmingham Young Coach Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for him to join other young sports leaders / coaches from across the city to take part in training and placements in sports coaching.

Bull Ring Markets Operations Manager, Amanda Prosser-Davies, was presented with a sought-after diploma at the National Association of British Markets Authorities (NABMA) Conference in Birmingham . Amanda, who runs the city’s bustling Bull Ring and Wholesale markets, received her Diploma in Market Administration from Local Government Minister Marcus Jones MP during the event, held at the city’s Council House.

Five Walsall College Fashion students have earned the chance for their bag designs to be manufactured and potentially launched to an international market. Students were given the opportunity to present their design ideas when fashion brand, Brady Bags, chose to work with the college on a live brief.
