Pizza Hut Restaurants are honouring National Curry Week (12-18th October) with a food fusion made in casual dining heaven: the naan pizza. Two versions of the special edition dish will be available to enjoy at Birmingham’s Star City Hut – Chicken Masala and vegetarian Chana Masala – as a week of 'currying favour' gets underway.

However, customers will have to get them while they're hot as the super limited edition pizzas will feature for two days only, on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th October. The specials will be on the menu at the newly re-imaged Star City Hut in one of Britain's curry capitals.

The naan bases, topped with a tasty blend of Indian spices and ingredients, come complete with mini poppadoms, chutney and raita, and cost £9.95 each. Flavours include:

  • Chana Masala (vegetarian) – a naan bread base topped with chickpeas, onions, peppers and chillies on a spicy tikka masala sauce
  • Chicken Masala – a naan bread base topped with marinated pieces of chicken, onions, peppers and chillies on a tikka masala sauce

Kath Austin, Director of HR and Marketing at Pizza Hut Restaurants, said: "We wanted to create something innovative to celebrate National Curry Week and the reopening of our flagship new look Hut in the heart of Birmingham, and these dishes are the perfect fit.

“It took our team over 15 hours to get the flavour combinations just right. Naan pizzas are a first for us so we're very proud of them and can't wait to hear what people think."

The Star City Hut has just reopened to the public (7th October) following a £370k makeover. A new exciting menu has also been rolled out in the revamped Hut including the Ultimate Thin, the brand’s new thinnest ever pizza (national launch on 12th October), Kentucky style BBQ ribs and crispy onion rings. The new look restaurant features a bar selling cocktails, mocktails and hard shakes for customers to enjoy, as well as a selection of beers and wines.
