Birmingham Children’s Hospital is encouraging fearless fundraisers to take on its highest ever indoor abseil to raise vital funds for the charity. The sponsored plunge, which will take place on Saturday 5 March at the One Snow Hill building near to the hospital, will offer plucky participants the chance to abseil from the office’s 12th floor at 150ft – a massive 30ft more than the last abseil at One Snow Hill.

The hospital is hoping its eighth annual abseil will raise over £30,000. The funds gained will help to make a real difference to the children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, their families and the staff who treat them.

During last year’s abseil at Fort Dunlop, 101 participants raised a massive £35,799.69 and the team are hoping their 2016 event will be just as successful.

Miranda Williams, Public Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “This is a great opportunity for those who fancy doing something adventurous to raise money for our wonderful hospital and the best part is you get to choose whatever ward, service or department your money goes to.

“If you’re dizzy about reaching new heights and completing such a terrifying, but tremendous challenge, register with us soon before you miss out on the experience of a lifetime.”

Registration is £30 per person and each abseiler needs to raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship for the event.

A spectator area will be available on the 10th floor for friends and family cheering on their daredevil relatives and there will also be the opportunity to buy participant photographs.
