The all-new Audi A2 e-tron: UK pricing and specification confirmed

The all-new Audi A2 e-tron launches in the UK today, reframing the philosophy behind the original, famously economical A2 for the electric era, and distinguishing itself as the most efficient electric Audi produced. The new Audi A2 e-tron range is priced from £32,200 (OTR) and is due to reach its first UK customers in early 2027. Versions with the 52 kWh and 61 kWh batteries also qualify for the Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant.

Compact exterior dimensions with short overhangs ensure the new A2 e-tron feels very much at home in urban environments, but its horizons are far broader. With spacious and typically well-appointed accommodation extending over a generous 2.77-metre wheelbase, and a choice of efficiency-optimised electric powertrains, it is equally comfortable tackling extra-urban journeys of up to 397 miles between charges.

Batteries in three different sizes – 52 kWh, 61 kWh and 84 kWh - provide impressive staying power in the new Audi A2 e-tron, and each is combined with one of two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, depending on the version. In combination with a single-speed automatic transmission, these offer a choice of four power outputs - 170PS, 190PS, 231PS and 326PS. The various configurations deliver maximum driving ranges of between 261 miles and 397 miles.

A class-leading drag coefficient of just 0.24, achieved not only through the fundamental, aerodynamically optimised design but also through numerous airflow management measures, contributes to the outstanding efficiency, and to excellent cabin refinement. Details such as dual-line door seals, window-edge water deflection channels and acoustic glazing also help to make progress as unruffled as possible, as does the standard comfort suspension. In some versions this is upgraded with adaptive damping for even greater composure.

“The new Audi A2 e-tron is the embodiment of efficiency, not only through its advanced energy management, but across every aspect of its design and development,” says Audi UK Director José Miguel Aparicio. “From its aerodynamic performance and intelligent interior packaging to its optimised production processes and responsible use of raw materials, the A2 e-tron has been engineered with purpose. It is ideally positioned to meet the needs of a growing number of Audi customers in the UK, while further strengthening our e-tron portfolio.”

UK trim structure: four options from Technik to Edition 1:
In the UK four specification levels – Technik, Sport, S line and Edition 1 – will be available at launch, depending on the chosen powertrain. All feature a wealth of Audi comfort and technology hallmarks familiar from the classes above to accentuate the premium feel, particularly in the cabin with its distinctive wraparound fabric ‘Softwrap’, high-quality materials and clever storage solutions.

The lead-in Technik specification establishes impressive foundations, starting externally with 18-inch alloy wheels and front and rear LED lighting. Inside, technology highlights include the MMI panoramic display with its 12.8-inch curved MMI touch display and 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, the Audi smartphone interface incorporating the Audi App Store, the AI-supported Audi assistant and Audi Phonebox wireless smartphone fast-charging. These are complemented by detail enhancements such as front seat and steering wheel heating and an ambient lighting package.

An extensive portfolio of driver assistance technologies has also filtered through from the larger Audi models, with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and blind spot assistants and the parking system plus with rear view camera among the many driver aids fitted from Technik level upwards.

The Sport option that follows adds even greater visual impact through 19-inch alloy wheels, along with additional interior enhancements including an upgrade to MMI experience plus incorporating an eight-speaker Audi sound system.

Distinctive S line styling combined with black 19-inch Audi Sport wheels, black trim elements and privacy glass mark out the models on the next rung of the specification ladder. Inside, the S line package also brings features such as S-embossed front sport seats upholstered in cloth and microfibre, interior elements in microfibre, artificial leather and aluminium and a three-spoke multi-function sport steering wheel with flat top and bottom and shift paddles.

When S line trim is combined with the top-level battery and motor configuration delivering 326PS, upgraded progressive steering and suspension with damper control are also included, and Audi drive select is added to enable the driver to fine-tune the suspension settings via the MMI.

The top-tier Edition 1 specification is reserved for A2 e-tron models with 231PS and 326PS outputs, and it makes an even stronger visual statement through 20-inch black metallic Audi Sport alloy wheels, and through LED headlights with matrix functionality incorporating daytime running lights with four selectable light signatures. These are combined with more sophisticated LED rear lights pro.

Inside, red-stitched microfibre upholstery, electric seat adjustment and the ambient lighting package plus add to the high-end feel, while acoustic glazing for the side windows gives a further boost to cabin refinement.

Dynamically, Edition 1 versions also benefit from suspension with damper control, progressive steering and Audi drive select, and in these models the already extensive list of safety features also expands to include features such as front, side and rear proactive occupant protection, park assist plus with 360° display and 3D and 360° surround view cameras.
