Lift Montgomery and Four Dwellings Primary Academy, both part of Lift Schools, are celebrating the successes of Year 4 pupils following this year’s national Multiplication Tables Check (MTC.)
The MTC is a national assessment for all Year 4 children in England, introduced 5 years ago and was designed to assess how well pupils can recall their times tables up to 12. Pupils complete 25 timed questions, and the results help schools to identify those who may benefit from further support in developing this essential mathematical skill.
This year, pupils from both schools performed extremely well, with 90% of pupils achieving full marks (25 out of 25) at Lift Montgomery and 88% of pupils at Lift Four Dwellings Academy. This result makes both schools some of the highest performing schools in the MTC across Lift Schools, and based on the 2025 national results, both schools performed well above the national average.
Staff at both schools have worked hard to build pupils’ fluency and confidence in mathematics through regular practice, engaging activities and a clear focus on mental recall at school. These results reflect the effort and enthusiasm of both pupils and teachers, as well as the support provided by families at home.
Fozia Nisar, principal at Lift Montgomery said: “At Lift Montgomery Primary Academy, we believe that every child can achieve mastery when they are given consistent practice, high expectations, and genuine encouragement.
“Our Multiplication Tables Check results this year reflect the dedication of our teachers and the hard work of our pupils, each of whom brought their own determination to the challenge. We are proud that individuals matter here, and this achievement shows what is possible when that belief shapes everything we do.”
Jaime Bryan, head of school at Lift Four Dwellings Primary Academy said: “We are so proud of all our children who have worked so hard and got such brilliant results.
“Our Mathematics Mastery programme ensures that children understand mathematical concepts, right through from Reception to Year 6 and means that all children will learn to be proficient in arithmetic and numerical fluency.” Ruth Murad, Primary Director of Education at Lift Schools said: “Many congratulations to both Fozia and Jamie, their teams and the wonderful pupils at Lift Montgomery and Four Dwellings Primary, who display such mastery in their times tables.
“They should all be very proud of the excellent results they achieved."
