Meanwhile, all three WV Active centres are offering free Kids Club activities aimed at young people aged five to 11 this Saturday.

At WV Active-Aldersley's Kids Club from 10am-1pm, children can enjoy badminton, table tennis, short tennis, basketball and football, have a go on a giant bouncy castle and space hoppers and take part in arts and crafts activities.

Giant Games including Connect 4, snakes and ladders, draughts, noughts and crosses and parachute are on offer at WV Active Bilston Bert-Williams' Kids Club, which children can also take part in indoor athletics, including mini hurdles, ball games, foam javelins and shuttles. Activities take place between 10am and 1pm.

And WV Active Central is offering a float session, promising lots of fun on large floats in the pool from 10am-1pm.

Places on Kids Club activities should be booked by calling 01902 551010 and again people are advised to reserve their places in advance to avoid disappointment.

Councillor Steve Evans, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Environment, said: "It is 12 months since we relaunched our leisure facilities under the WV Active umbrella and we're celebrating a hugely successful first year with free activities for customers old and new.

"This is a great chance for people to find out what their leisure centre has to offer, and to have a go at some of the activities for free."
