An Essex-based charity which provides specialist care for individuals with incurable conditions and their families has received a donation of £1,500 from Chelmsford-based Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
Havens Hospices received the donation as part of the Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities where it builds new homes. The charity provides vital care and support for individuals of all ages, which ensures they receive the best possible care tailored to their needs and wishes.
This support can be provided in the comfort of their own homes, at Fair Havens for adults, or Little Havens for children. Importantly, all of Havens Hospices' care and support services are provided free of charge to patients and their families, thanks to generous donations from the community.
Rossella Inguscio, Corporate Fundraiser at Havens Hospices, said: “We are always blown away by the incredible support of our communities.
“Our care only exists thanks to the generosity and kindness from businesses like Barratt and David Wilson Homes which make donations in support of our specialist care. Every pound is helping Havens Hospices support people of all ages to make the most of every day of their lives.
“And, when the end of life is in sight, we are there to make sure they are cared for in a way they choose, where they choose, and are comfortable and at peace.” The donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes will significantly contribute to the ongoing work of Havens Hospices, enabling the charity to provide essential care and support to those who require it most in the Essex community.
Rossella added: "Any Community Fund scheme which supports local charities and causes like Havens Hospices is amazing and really helps to make a huge difference in the community.
"It never ceases to amaze us how generous local businesses are, helping us to continue providing a wide range of support and care to children, young people, and adults across Essex. Thanks to Barratt and David Wilson Homes' donation, Havens Hospices will continue to give local families more time, more opportunities to do what’s important to them, more choice, and more control over their care, supporting everyone in our community to make every day of their life count.”
Tom Wright, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, went on: “We are delighted to support Havens Hospices through our Community Fund scheme.
“Havens Hospices' dedication to providing vital care and support to those in need aligns with our values, and we are proud to contribute to its mission.” Site managers working for Barratt Group won 96 awards for quality workmanship in the 2023 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards. Barratt has won more Pride in the Job awards than any other housebuilder for the past 19 years.
