Multiple global medallist Laura Muir will captain the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the 2023 World Athletics Championships taking place in Budapest, Hungary between 19-27 August. The Scottish athlete has been a prolific medallist for GB & NI over several years, winning Olympic 1500m silver in Tokyo two years ago.

At last year’s World Athletics Championships in Oregon, she also sealed 1500m bronze which was her first world outdoor medal in her fifth appearance at the Championships.

International Series England will take place at the renowned Close House from 17-20 August, 2023, and there are plenty of compelling factors that make attending the highly anticipated tournament a must. The elite field consists of 22 LIV Golf players headlined by former World No.1 Lee Westwood alongside fellow former Ryder Cup players Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell.

The full team will be finalised once UK Athletics has received World Rankings invitations from World Athletics next week. Subject to invites being received, those athletes who have met the UKA qualification standard and demonstrated current form will be selected.

England will start their five-Test tour of India next year on 25 January in Hyderabad. India's cricket board (BCCI) has published the schedule for the series and the other Tests will take place in Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala.

The fifth Test will start on 11 March and England captain Ben Stokes' side will be hoping to win in India for the first time since 2012. When India last hosted England in 2021, they won the series 3-1.
