Alauda Aeronautics is seeking OEM partners to join it in a motorsport revolution, as it unveils the Airspeeder Mk4 – the world’s first, and fastest, crewed flying car.

Designed and built in Adelaide, South Australia, the Airspeeder Mk4 is the world's fastest electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Capable of reaching a top speed of 360 kph (225 mph) in just 30 seconds from a standing start, it’s designed to set the bar for performance and technology in the radical new sport of piloted Airspeeder racing. 

Ellie Baker set a new championship record to win 1500m gold on day two of the UK Athletics Indoor Championships at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on Sunday. The 24-year-old, who held off Katie Snowden to claim a maiden British title and break Zola Budd's 1986 mark with a time of four minutes 6.73 seconds, said: “I knew I was in great shape coming into the indoor season, but it hasn’t been showing in my races which for me has been super frustrating, but I kept my mindset and to come away with the Championship record and my first British Champs Gold, in my very first British Champs competing in the 1500m it’s all a lot of firsts and I’m delighted with everything. I think my coach will want me in the 1500m field more frequently after this!”

A new athletics track for Utilita Arena Birmingham, purchased by Birmingham City Council, is set to host its first event this weekend in the shape of the UK Athletics Indoor Championships.

The track replaces the original, used at the city centre venue since its opening in 1991 – with the £1.7million investment acting as a catalyst for the council to secure a ten-year event partnership with UK Athletics, which underlines Birmingham’s status as the home of indoor athletics.
