The UK's elite domestic netball league, the Netball Super League, will relaunch in 2025, bigger and better than ever before, and with it, an exciting new one-day competition: The Netball Super Cup.

A new-look tournament sees all eight teams in action and the chance to check out new teams, new squads and players in action at Utilita Arena Sheffield in a competition offering a jam-packed day of netball with 15 matches, in-venue entertainment and concourse activations. The eight teams will be split into two pools for the group stages with successful teams progressing to the semi-finals and the final where the first ever 2025 Netball Super Cup champions will be crowned offering a fantastic experience for fans, groups and families.

The following teams will be competing; Birmingham Panthers, Lexisnexsis Cardiff Dragons, Leeds Rhinos, Loughborough Lightning, Nottingham Forest, London Mavericks, London Pulse, Manchester Thunder. The Panthers, who have released their highly anticipated fixtures, ahead of their debut 2025 NSL debut season, kicks off with an away game against NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball on March 14, followed by their first home game on March 21 against Manchester Thunder.

On her squad’s potential, Head Coach Jo Trip said: “This squad embodies the spirit and ambition of the Birmingham Panthers.

“We have a fantastic mix of experience and young talent, all of whom are eager to make their mark, with our goal being not just to compete, but to set new standards and inspire a new generation in the region. With the talent and determination that’s in the squad, I know, for sure, that we will rise to the occasion.”

The Birmingham Panthers’ entry into the Netball Super League is a significant milestone for the region, bringing top-level netball to the heart of the West Midlands, with the team focussing on a combination of elite performances and creating innovative experiences for fans, as well as engaging with the local community. The Panthers are determined to make a lasting impact in the league and inspire the wider netball community.

Panthers’ other key matches this season includes the Bank Holiday showdown against NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball on May 4 and the highly anticipated clash against reigning NSL champions, Loughborough Lightning, on June 14. With home matches spread across Birmingham, Worcester, and Coventry, fans from across the West Midlands will have the chance to catch the newbies in action. 

The inaugural Netball Super Cup is set to be held at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday, 08 March 2025.
