It has been reported that Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is a second player to allege racism at Yorkshire County Cricket Club. It follows chairman Roger Hutton, and several board members, who resign over the club's response to racism experienced by Azeem Rafiq.

The club has launched an investigation after the former player alleged he was subjected to repeated racial abuse.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission said it was concerned about the racism row, with chief executive Marcial Boo saying in a statement that her organisation had written to the club, asking for more information, including a fully copy of their investigation report, to determine if there has been a breach of the law.

Former Club chair Roger Hutton announced his resignation in the wake of racism allegations by Rafiq, after apologising “unreservedly" to Rafiq. He joined the club 18 months after the player left, in 2020.

“My frustration was shared by all non-executive members of the board,” he said, “some of whom have also now resigned. New Yorkshire chair Lord Kamlesh Patel has been landed with the task of leading the relevant changes as the club look to deal with the crisis.

He has called on the likes of chief executive Mark Arthur and director of cricket Martyn Moxon to follow suit.
