Lawyers at Birmingham law firm Clarke Willmott LLP are celebrating a new sponsorship partnership with the Solihull Moors FC under-13s girls’ team, in a deal which comes during Women’s Sport Week. The law firm is sponsoring the up-and-coming team this season as they compete in the Central Warwickshire Girls Football League. Partner Rayner Grice said supporting the junior girls’ team was important to her colleagues who feel passionately about encouraging young people into sports and supporting non traditional women and girls teams.

Rayner said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Solihull Moors FC under-13s girls team this season.  The Women’s game has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. Football is not traditionally viewed as a Women’s sport. However the rise of the Women’s

National Team has inspired more young girls to become involved in the sport, with a number of schools now including Girl’s football on their curriculum.

“The success of the Great Britain team at the Olympics and Paralympics will also hopefully encourage more children to become active and take up sport which can teach them essential team building skills and discipline.

“This team had a hugely successful first season last year when they played as Wythall Juniors FC before being merged with Solihull Moors FC. This year they have paved the way for a new under-12s girls team to be formed and it is hoped that this success can continue to be built on. We’re really looking forward to the season ahead and hope our sponsorship will encourage recognition of football as a sport for both girls and boys.”

Manager of the girls’ team, Anthony Hasker, said: “It’s great that Clarke Willmott is sponsoring the team this season. It was a real boost for the girls and I would encourage any girl thinking about taking up the sport to come along and give it a go. We are always looking

out for new talent.”
