Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC) is delighted to announce that they are the first Charity partner of the UK’s fastest growing delicious pizza chain, Caprinos Pizza Ltd, with a new store opening in West Bromwich at 2 Jowetts Lane B71 2RA on Monday 7th November.

They will be offering special offers and FREE pizzas to walk-in customers between 5 and 6pm. Commenting on why this small, national charity was chosen, Caprinos marketing manager Zamman Ahmed said: “To see how this charity is making such an impact, what they do and how they change lives - the decision was easy.”

Lucy AAC www.lucyaac.org.uk is a national charity that ensures babies and critically ill children can access specialist treatment and care, wherever they are in the UK. Often the only way children can access specialist treatment or care is to travel between hospitals by aeroplane – Lucy AAC is the only charity in the UK that provides this unique service. Their air transfers provide lifechanging outcomes for children, including children being discharged from long hospital stays, overcoming diseases like cancer, and receiving vital diagnosis which enables families to gain extra support.

“This incredible service is not funded by the NHS. Instead, the small charity team work tirelessly to raise for every transfer. Due to current funding they are only able to fly 2 out of every 4 children who need their service. When we learnt this, we knew that we needed to partner with Lucy AAC,” explained Ahmed.

“Caprinos is working hard to raise funds for Lucy AAC so that they can help more families. We are planning lots of fun opportunities for our customers and staff to get involved in this partnership”.

Caprinos offers Italian American cuisine and has menu items suitable for adults, children, and to share with family and friends. They are one of the very few pizza brands offering a Halal menu across all of their branches. Lucy AAC is excited to be working with this award-winning, national pizza chain to raise funds, grow awareness of the unique air ambulance service and help as many families across the UK as possible.

Caprinos launched the partnership with a generous donation of £1,000 and the charity is planning lots of fun activities for Caprinos customers and staff to get involved and help to raise funds for Lucy AAC. They are excited about what Caprinos and Lucy AAC are going to achieve together, helping babies and critically ill children across the UK.

With family and friends at the heart of their business, Caprinos Pizza is committed to providing an outstanding takeaway/delivery experience to customers. It is their goal to exceed customers’ expectations for quality and service while paying close attention to their individual needs.

The charity, Lucy AAC, was founded in 2011 to ensure that every child could receive the specialist care and treatment that they need in hospitals throughout the UK. Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC) is the only charity in the UK that flies children to hospital by aeroplane.

The average Lucy AAC transfer flight is 300 miles and takes 60 minutes. Planes can fly the length and breadth of the country, making it the safest and quickest way for seriously ill children to travel long distances between hospitals.

These charity transfers are provided for children requiring specialist treatment, diagnostic tests, specialist surgery including organ transplants and to be taken to a hospital closer to home, including for end-of-life care. Lucy AAC is a small, national charity comprising a team of just 4 who are passionate about changing children's lives and are always looking for more ways to grow the charity.

They believe that every child deserves the right treatment, in the right place, at the right time. Your support can make that happen. During the pandemic it has been difficult for the charity, with fundraising opportunities cancelled but demand for the service still rising.
