Walsall College Business and Computing students had the opportunity to find out about some of the career and progression opportunities available to them this week, as the college organised a series of career focused sessions.

Industry professionals from Birmingham City University, Santander, Irwin Mitchell, Vibrant Networks, Interserve Construction and HCB Solicitors & Chartered Accountants visited the college between Monday 11th May and Friday 15th May and delivered inspirational careers talks to students.

The sessions were designed to broaden the horizons of students and make them aware about the different career options available within their chosen fields.

Jennifer Clarke, Guidance & Progression Co-ordinator, said: “Walsall College strives to ensure that our students gain as much exposure and information to opportunities available to them locally, nationally and internationally so that they are fully aware of what skills and qualities along with qualifications potential employers are looking for.

“Our aim is to raise students’ aspirations, keep students motivated and inspired and most importantly ready for the world of work.”

IAG Advisor Melanie Kerr added: “Hundreds of students attended the talks delivered by a range of organisations and we are really pleased that so many students were inspired by the opportunities available to them.”
