A family fun day and cricket match will be held in Coseley next weekend to raise money for people living with mental ill health.

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, a leading mental health and wellbeing charity based in West Bromwich, will host the event on Sunday 29 August from 10:30am. The charity will have its own team made up of staff and volunteers playing against Wolverhampton All Stars, a local team from the city in a 35 over contest.

During the day there will also be Caribbean street food, a BBQ, bouncy castle, light refreshments and a mental health information point for people to find out more about the services the charity offers. The clubhouse bar will also be open from 12pm onwards.

Gary Wheway, Head of Fundraising and Business Development said: “The event looks set to be a really great day.

“Team KPG have been practicing and it’s going to be a good laugh but very competitive, but the main thing is getting the message out there about what we do to help those suffering with mental health issues. All of the family can join in the fun and cheer on the two teams.

“There will be some great food, drinks and a bouncy castle for kids, all we need now is the sunshine. The day will also give people the opportunity to find out more about our services and any concerns they may have, as well as meet the wider KPG teams and help challenge the stigma around mental health.”

Tickets are available both online and can also be purchased on the day, although numbers are limited so it’s advisable to book in advance. General Admission is £5, and a family ticket costs £7 based on a family of four.
