Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is proud to announce Race Against Dementia (RAD) as the featured charity for the 2022 Formula 1 Aramco United States Grand Prix and the Circuit’s 10th anniversary. RAD is a non-profit created by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart, OBE in 2016. Sir Jackie Stewart, OBE helped showcase the first USGP held at COTA in 2012.

“I’m delighted that COTA has chosen Race Against Dementia (RAD) as their charity for the 10th anniversary celebration of the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin. I’m very grateful to COTA and Formula 1 for helping me with a mission that’s so close to my heart.” stated Sir Jackie. Following his wife’s diagnosis of dementia in 2014, Sir Jackie Stewart, OBE established RAD to raise money to fund breakthrough and innovative dementia research.

Today, 55 million people around the world have dementia. Unless a cure is found, one in three people born today will die of dementia. Non-profits like RAD have become instrumental to continuing the development of treatments and cures for this cognitive syndrome.

COTA Chair, Bobby Epstein, says: “It’s an honor to have Sir Jackie Stewart in Austin during the 2022 Formula 1 Aramco United States Grand Prix weekend, coming together to benefit Race Against Dementia’s cause. His legendary career is remarkable in itself, but his dedication and care for this cause is truly inspiring. We hope to continue supporting his efforts to the benefit of humankind.”

Before race weekend, RAD is hosting a private screening of STEWART at Soho House Austin on Thursday, October 20, 2022. ‘Stewart’ is a documentary following the trials and celebrations Sir Jackie has experienced. The event will benefit Race Against Dementia with minimum requested donations starting at $500 per person and 46 seats available.

In conjunction with this screening, RAD and COTA will host an online auction for various experiences, including a lap of COTA’s track driven by Sir Jackie Stewart, or the opportunity to be entertained and hosted by him as his guest in the United Kingdom at Buckinghamshire County Estate. All items and experiences are courtesy of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali & Ross Brawn, Bell Helmets, McLaren, Sir Jackie and Paul Stewart, and Circuit of The Americas, with all proceeds from the auction going to Race Against Dementia.
