This year Covent Garden will be bringing the Christmas Magic once again to Central London. The central London neighbourhood is one of the best places in the city - and the UK - to experience the Christmas Magic, where families come together to enjoy the best shopping, dining and exciting offers.
On Friday October 29, London's Covent Garden felled its famous Christmas Tree, London's tallest hand-picked Christmas tree, from Woods Farm in Solihull, in the West Midlands - which also supplies Downing Street and Windsor Castle.
The selected fir for this year stands at around 55ft and will be decorated with over 30,000 lights in the heart of Covent Garden and will be switched-on on November 9.
Owner Geoff Gilbert said: “We have sent trees to Lerwick, in the north, and Jersey and Guernsey in the south. Despite scare stories about a possible tree shortage there are plenty about.”
The farm also sent pines to Milan in Italy and, in 2015, the business revealed one of its more elaborate jobs - for the daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone, who wanted the firm to help transform her West London mansion into a winter wonderland. The property was turned into an Alpine ski lodge, with a wooden facade masking the red brick.
