Level 2 and 3 Acting students performed a series of Christmas songs by Slade, Wham, Band Aid, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble and Wizzard.
Dance students at Level 3 choreographed a routine to the music from 2004 fantasy drama, Polar Express, and performed another dance to a fitness inspired 80s mix.
Students attended workshop sessions for six weeks prior to the event to rehearse for their songs and routines, and to ensure their performances were to a high standard.
Christine Taylor, Curriculum Manager for Performance Arts at Walsall College, said: “The students gave a brilliant performance and their hard work really paid off.
“Giving students the opportunity to prepare and rehearse for a public performance gives them an insight into what a career as a performer is like. It enables them to use their creativity to a set brief and to hone their skills and confidence.
As a college, we utilise opportunities to tie work experience with good causes. Not only was this Christmas party a good way for students to develop their skills, but to also give back to their community by providing entertainment to cancer patients and their families, and to give them something special this Christmas.
“The feedback from Walsall Healthcare’s cancer patients have been very positive and we are all very proud of the professionalism our students have shown.”
