Demand for Birmingham's only Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Treatment is soaring at Active Clinic in Edgbaston. The Hagley Road based clinic is seeing a huge spike in patients using the treatment to help aid with sports recovery and are also experiencing an increasing number of patients suffering from long covid who require the treatment.
In a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is increased two to three times higher than normal air pressure.
Under these conditions, your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.
Mid 2021 Active Clinic made a huge investment of over £50k that was spent on Birmingham’s first and only Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber treatment, which was launched by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Muhammad Afzal.
