Now entering its ninth year, EGX - powered by Virgin Media - has cemented its status as the number one venue for publishers and developers to exhibit their pre-release games in the UK. In recent years the event has grown to encompass all aspects of gaming culture including eSports, VR, YouTube talent, indie games, cosplay and retro gaming.

80,000 gamers are expected to fill the NEC in Birmingham from September 22nd to 25th for the biggest and best EGX yet. Many of the world’s biggest publishers and developers have already given their substantial support to this year’s EGX and the line-up announcements will begin soon.

In addition to providing the opportunity to buy and pre-order games and hardware at the show, Amazon will be supporting EGX with a substantial marketing campaign via the Amazon website, app, social media and other direct channels. Amazon’s website will also host an EGX hub of content, Twitch live-streams and in depth information on all the products being showcased at EGX. Amazon will also be running monthly prize draws: 100 Amazon customers will have the chance to win free EGX tickets in the months leading up the show.

“We asked our community where they prefer to buy and pre-order their games and Amazon was overwhelmingly their number one choice.” said Rupert Loman, CEO of EGX’s parent company Gamer Network. “Their obsessive focus on customer experience fits perfectly with our attendees’ discerning taste. We’re extremely pleased to have the backing of another market-leading partner.”

"Every year we see our customers respond to the hands on experience and news coming out of EGX, so we are delighted to make it even easier to connect our customers with the games they love from innovative indie titles to blockbuster games,” added Russell Jones, Category Leader, Video Games for Amazon. “We are also working with our publishing partners to offer a few surprises for customers at the event."
