The Mayor of Wolverhampton is encouraging people to put their little grey cells to the test when he hosts four charity quiz nights over the next few months. The general knowledge quiz is returning by popular demand and will be taking place in the Mayoral Suite at the Civic Centre on Thursdays 1 September, 15 December, 9 February and 4 May.

Quizmaster Carl Husted will once again be overseeing proceedings, and all proceeds will go to Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Barry Findlay's chosen charities, the MS Therapy Centre in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton Samaritans and Help For Heroes.

Mayor Councillor Findlay said: "The charity quiz is one of the highlights of the Mayoral year, and so I'm delighted that this year we will be having not two, but four, quiz nights. "Last year’s events were hugely successful, with full houses enjoying fun and games and helping to raise thousands of pounds for good causes; I'm hoping this year's events will be even better."

Prizes are on offer for the teams finishing first, second and third, with a booby prize for the team finishing last. A host of fantastic goodies will also be available in charity raffles, along with games of barmy bingo. Mayor Councillor Findlay added: "The quiz nights are a great chance for brain boxes to raise money for three very good causes – and enjoy a great night out at the same time. I’d urge teams to book their places as soon as possible.”

Places are now available for teams of up to four people, priced £20 per team. The fun gets underway at 7pm for a 7.30pm start on each occasion. Snacks and tea and coffee will be available and competitors are invited to bring their own alcoholic drinks.
