Give it a go! That’s the message from WV Active @ Bert Williams Leisure Centre, where a morning of free activities is being held on Tuesday, March 15 as part of Residents’ Week. There is something to suit everyone between 9am and 12.30pm on the day, with a range of exercise activities available, including aqua aerobics, a mini-circuits taster, gym inductions, lane swimming, and a group walk in partnership with the brilliant ‘Beat the Street’ team.
Councillor Sandra Samuels, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for Health and Well Being said: “Supporting residents to benefit from good health and live longer through healthier lifestyles is a key priority for the city.
“It’s never too late to start looking after your health and these free taster sessions are a great way to try something new.”
Residents Week is part of Wolverhampton’s drive to improve opportunities, prosperity and health for residents, and is also part of the City’s Conference Season, which aims to raise the profile of Wolverhampton, its people and opportunities.
Helen Child, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Wolverhampton and member of the City’s Inclusion Board added: “We want as many people as possible to take advantage of the support on offer – it could really make a difference by giving them support in making lifestyle changes.
“There will be a real buzz about the centre and we warmly welcome you, your family and friends to attend and allow us to put a spring in your step as part of Residents’ Week.”
