Barratt and David Wilson Homes welcomed hundreds of residents and visitors to the official opening of the brand-new Central Park at Darwin Green.
The highly anticipated 15-acre park, located in-between Barratt Homes’ Darwin Green and Franklin Gardens at Darwin Green and David Wilson Homes’ Darwin Green developments, was formally opened by Councillor Dinah Pounds, Mayor of Cambridge, on Saturday 23rd August. Festivities ran throughout the afternoon, with families enjoying a bouncy castle, football activities, and tennis taster sessions, as well as live music from acoustic duo, Soul Front.
Courtesy of the developers, guests also enjoyed free refreshments from local vendors, including sweet treats including ice cream from Scoops of Cambridge and Korean street food from Manna Seoul, while exploring the brand-new amenities at the Central Park. Designed to be the heart of the wider Darwin Green community, the park offers a range of facilities for residents and families to enjoy, including tennis and basketball courts, a sports pavilion, allotments, a play area, and multi-use playing fields.
