Get into the Christmas spirit by walking, jogging and running around Sandwell Valley dressed up as Santa in December. Registration for Sandwell's second annual Santa Dash on Saturday 10 December at Sandwell Valley is now open. People of all ages dressed up as Santa will walk, jog or run 2km around the country park at the event organised by Mytime Active and supported by Sandwell Leisure Trust and the council.

Registration is £5 for adults, £3 for under 12s and free for under threes. Adults and under 12s will receive an email voucher for their runner's pack before the event, which includes a Santa suit. Participants should register online by November 25 by going to: www.mytimeactive.co.uk/sandwell-santa-dash Only 500 spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
Anyone taking part  isn't required to collect sponsorship, but people who want to raise money for good causes are welcome to. Sandwell Council's cabinet member for leisure Councillor Richard Marshall said: "The Santa Dash is a great day out for the whole family. "Last year it was incredible to see so many people out and dressed up as Santa - it's a brilliant start to Christmas and it also helps raise money for good causes.

"I'd urge people to sign up and to do it fast - places went incredibly quickly last year and there's only 500 spaces."
