Now officially open, Birmingham's world-famous German Christmas Market returns for yet another mouth-watering year, as it brings its wide array festive food and drink to regular city shoppers and visitors who have come to know and love since the very beginning.

As an integral part of its landscape that’s now in its 24th year, the city's annual Frankfurt Christmas Market, opened to the public today, with a wide range of stalls filling Victoria Square and New Street. Alongside stands selling handcrafted decorations, toys, jewellery and gifts, visitors can fill up on bratwursts, schnitzels, pretzels and garlic bread, along with festive tipples like hot gluhwein, tankards of beer and boozy hot chocolates.

Those looking to enjoy the festivities can get a beer and a Frankfurt sausage, or a burger and hot pretzels. For people making their way into the city, Birmingham’s railway stations, including New Street, Moor Street, and Snow Hill, are on hand to welcome visitors, as it attracts thousands of passengers each and every day during the period.

Whether you're meeting up with friends for a Christmas drink, or looking to pick up a gift, there will be something for everyone to get into the festive spirit. The city's Victoria Square and New Street is lined with wooden chalets, delicious food and drink to enjoy and gift stalls to browse over too.

The iconic festive market, also known as the Frankfurt Christmas Market, is here and will remain active right up until Christmas Eve as an expected 5 million people are expected to be part of the fun and frivolities!
