Jameel Motors UK appoints Calum James as General Manager of Farizon UK

Jameel Motors UK has appointed Calum James as General Manager of Farizon UK to further bolster the market introduction of the Farizon SV large van. James takes up this role with immediate effect, and a new Head of Sales will be appointed in due course.

James made a successful transition from the banking sector to the automotive industry, joining Jameel Motors with a wealth of experience gained at Mercedes-Benz UK. During his 11-year tenure there, he held pivotal roles in both fleet sales and aftersales.

As the National Fleet Sales Manager for Passenger Cars, he developed strategic initiatives that drove end user customer sales and helped to prepare for the brand’s transition to using the agency model. Later, as Head of Corporate Sales for Mercedes-Benz Vans, James led his team in achieving significant sales milestones, contributing to a strong financial performance for the company in 2024.

“I have enjoyed a variety of roles within the automotive industry so far in my career, but this opportunity with Farizon UK is the most exciting challenge yet,” said James.

“Setting new benchmarks across several crucial areas, the Farizon SV is a strong entrant to the electric van sector. There’s huge potential in fleet sales and the SME market, and I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to establish Farizon as a major force in the UK van market.”

Established in 2016, Farizon is the commercial vehicle division of Geely, China’s largest private vehicle manufacturer. The Farizon SV is being introduced to the UK by Jameel Motors UK, a London-based automotive distribution business and part of Jameel Motors.

Available in L1 H1, L1 H2, L2 H2, L2 H3 and L3 H3 configurations, the Farizon SV meets the needs of a broad range of fleet operators and SME van users. As standard, the SV features a host of advanced innovations, including drive-by-wire technology, a unique b-pillarless design, cell-to-pack battery packaging, and a payload monitoring system.

At the start of last month, Jameel Motors UK announced plans for a flagship Farizon retail site in London’s primary industrial area, Park Royal. A temporary sales office will operate at the site from July 2025, with the main retail and aftersales facility opening in September 2025 after a full refurbishment.

Jameel Motors UK has also signed the first partners in a nationwide franchise dealer network across the UK. Heathrow Van Centre in west London and SMV Commercials Yeovil in the south-west of England will be joined by several more retail and aftersales sites in the coming months.
