Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) has become ‘Kore Sandwell’ for a more contemporary, forward-thinking brand that reflects the organisation’s growth and renewed focus on community health and wellbeing.
Kore Sandwell builds on SLT’s proud 20+ year legacy with a fresh, cohesive identity that will move the business and the communities they serve, forward – but all facilities will still be owned by Sandwell Council and they’ll continue to be operated by the same trusted team. The new brand signals the shift from a traditional leisure service to a more community-focused organisation, supporting holistic health at every life stage and concentrating on preventative health and wellbeing, family and youth engagement, partnerships with leading health providers and welcoming, community-first spaces.
Kore builds from a solid foundation, with the eight facilities across Sandwell fundamental to a healthier lifestyle across the community. Wellbeing starts at the centre and kore is symbolic of both a physical hub and place and the beating heart of personal welfare.
Mark Braithwaite, CEO of Kore Sandwell, explains: “This evolution represents more than a new name; it’s a bold step towards a healthier, more connected future for the borough.
“Kore Sandwell embodies our continued commitment to wellbeing, inclusion, community and excellence, the same principles that have always guided our work and our partnerships. We deeply value the relationships we’ve built with our supporters and stakeholders and we look forward to continuing these collaborations under a stronger, more unified brand.
Together, we’ll continue to make an increasingly positive impact, helping local people move better, feel stronger and live longer, happier lives.” The drivers for change include changing community expectations, a more competitive land-scape, the need to appeal to a broader audience, closer alignment to NHS initiatives, plus an ability to expand on services and exciting new wellness programmes.
Braithwaite adds: “Our quality of delivery remains unchanged, but a renewed focus as Kore Sandwell will help to bring increased engagement and health membership opportunities, greater community impact, stronger digital and physical presence, plus enhanced staff pride and cultural shift.”
