Erdington folk are being encouraged to ‘make a difference’ to the lives of children in the area by becoming a governor with the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership’s Brookvale and Slade primary schools. The ATLP is a multi-academy trust of five children’s centres, four primary schools, three secondary schools and a Teaching School, based in Four Oaks, Erdington and Coleshill, with 4,500 children, over 725 staff and 70 governors across seven local governing bodies.

Governor opportunities are available at both Brookvale and Slade primaries: ideally for people with leadership expertise, possibly with some experience as a governor, trustee or non-executive director.

Sir Chris Stone, outgoing CEO of the ATLP, said: “We’re seeking motivated individuals who’ve got what it takes to help us drive our schools forward and who share our commitment to sustaining high performance.

We’re looking for professionals with an industry background. But first and foremost, applicants must be passionate about the role we play in improving life chances for children across our communities. They should also be committed to bringing their strategic skills to bear in a challenging, but fulfilling, role.

“This is a real opportunity for people to join a respected partnership and to make a contribution to the leadership of a primary school within a multi academy trust. “
