A free careers fair is to be held at Sandwell College's Central Sixth campus in West Bromwich on Saturday 16 January, 10am – 2pm.  The hugely successful annual New Year, New Start 2016 apprenticeship, education, training and jobs fair is now in its seventh year and is open to all 14 to 19-year-olds (or up to 25 years old if they have a learning difficulty or disability) and their parents living in Sandwell.

The ground floor of Sandwell College's Central Sixth campus, New Street, West Bromwich, B70 7PG, will be transformed into a huge exhibition hall with exhibitors.

They will include employers, colleges, universities, the armed forces, apprenticeship and training providers – all set up to inspire young people to explore the opportunities open to them. There will also be the chance to apply for real jobs and apprenticeships.

In addition Sandwell Connexions careers advisers will be on hand to give impartial careers information, advice and guidance so young people can discuss their options in detail.

Councillor Simon Hackett, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, said: "It's really important young people get the best advice to get their careers off to a good start.

"I would urge young people to go along in the New Year for them to find information and advice on apprenticeships, education, training and job opportunities.

"There will be a wealth of information - all under one roof – to help them make informed decisions about their career choices as well as the opportunity to apply for real jobs and apprenticeships."

Visitors will get the chance to win one of the three Apple iPads, sponsored by Sandwell College.
