Wolverhampton’s Central Library was host to the city’s Story Trails last weekend, giving almost 2,000 visitors the opportunity to see the untold community stories in a completely new way using augmented and virtual reality alongside an immersive 3D map of the city. The Story Trail through Wolverhampton took visitors to the factory floor of Courtaulds Textiles Works, a major employer from 1926 to 1970 with factory chimneys that once dominated the city’s skyline.

The official auction and memorabilia marketplace for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has officially launched, offering fans the opportunity to bring the Games home and own a piece of sporting history.

The rare, authentic and exclusive pieces of history and memories from the action, has gone on sale on the official website.

Community centre Saathi House in Aston is set to unveil a large mural this week to celebrate its 45th anniversary, coinciding with South Asian Heritage Month. Wulfrunian and Olivier award-nominated actress Frances Barber will narrate the story of textiles in Wolverhampton as the immersive storytelling experience StoryTrails arrives in the city this weekend.

She narrates an augmented reality trail through the city centre which explores Wolverhampton’s role in the textile industry and fashion glamour, from Courthaulds Textile Works to department store Beatties and the town centre of the 1960s.
